coraschroeder: I just wanted to take a moment to rant. You should probably stop reading now, because… well, I’m going to be embarrassed that I posted something like this when I’m feeling better. Basically, I just wanted to say how incredibly lucky I feel to have such amazing friends. All of them, I mean it. Things may not always be perfect. You annoy me, I annoy you. There’s even been a fight or two. But I’ve been through a lot of cities, a lot of friends, and I can’t imagine having things better. You’re fun, you’re nerdy, you’re amazingly talented, and you put up with me. Some of you are even nuts enough to enjoy spending time with me! And no matter what, you guys are there for me. I hope to always be there for you too. I know everyone wants to claim they have the best friends in the world, but like they could stand up to this. Thanks for being awesome. Thank you for being awesome in return! I definitely don’t get to see as much of you as I would like, but hopefully that will be fixed with by nearer living accommodations at the end of he summer! Seriously, there is occasional mutual annoyance, but the awesome shenanigans more than make up for it. So thanks for being my friend too!

New Family

I wrote this some time ago and am finally getting around to posting it. It’s written from the point of view of Iliaro, who is mine, and primarily concerns Siobhan, who is Hers. Check her tumblr for the mirror to it.

New Family

The air was warm and heavy. Having lived outside for most of my life, I knew that a storm was coming. This realization was a peripheral thing. I tend to ignore the weather. The oncoming storm only floated up to the level of conscious thought when Siobhan tugged at my sleeve to point out some bit of shiny ribbon on a merchant’s stand. It brought another thought along for the ride: Siobhan hates storms.

I was just at lunch with her and her, when a random person came up to me, and told me “I love what you’re doing. The vest and the tie, the shirt. Wonderful.” It was amazing. Made my day.
